Education & Outreach

Katie has been a NYC arts educator for over 15 years serving many of the most deprived communities throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, & Queens. Katie has always believed that anything is possible with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. The arts have the power to open so many doors, as it has for Katie, and exposes one to many people, places, and cultures one might not normally be exposed to.

Las Historias De Mi Abuelo

A work inspired by the immigrant story of my grandfather, Sergio Bas. This production was was made possible in collaboration with The Kingdom Dance Company & Building Equity-Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. For 8 weeks, we offered a free online dance intensive for young people ages 10-18 which culminated in this live performance filmed at Jamaica Center for Performing Arts. The show, comprised of dance, music, and poetry, focused on immigrant stories in the United States.
