Education & Outreach

Katie has been a NYC arts educator for over 15 years serving many of the most underserved communities throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, & Queens. Katie has always believed that anything is possible with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. The arts have the power to open so many doors, as it has for Katie, and exposes one to many people, places, and cultures one might not normally be exposed to. Igniting her students’ passion and interest in the arts contributes to their persevering spirit and desire to succeed, amidst all challenges life may bring. Reaffirming the belief that our circumstances do not determine our future.

Lady Katie became a certified Zumba Instructor in 2012. Since then she has taught dance fitness in several NYC public schools, dance studios, and gyms. She is currently a faculty member at the School at Peridance (NYC). She has instructed dance workshops at Kansas State University, Connecticut College & St. Joseph's College (NYC).

Her choreography has appeared on stages such as the Melrose Ballroom, Queens Theatre & the Apollo Theater. Katie is also the co-founder/creator of Root3dXchange, a NYC based, multidisciplinary artist collective who recently held a successful 3 hour performance workshop in downtown Manhattan. This workshop was held in collaboration with The Door (youth organization) and the students of California State East Bay University.
